Who we are...

Dana Carnazzo, came from a background of food and travel to found Grapes of Wrath, California Style Catering. She cooked on yachts in the Caribbean and South Pacific, upscale fishing lodges in remote Alaska and ships from Mexico to Southern Alaska. She returned to Monterey where she worked as catering manager for a prominent local company for five years before establishing Grapes of Wrath in 1992, and now, East of Eden Events in 2009. Her love of good food and service has allowed Grapes of Wrath to grow and prosper for 17 years. Her special area of expertise within the company is logistics. She can visualize your event from beginning to end with full understanding of the rentals and staffing necessary to produce a great event.

Tamie Aceves began working with Grapes of Wrath many years ago when Dana's and Tamie's sons were in first grade together. She took a break from the catering world to get her degree in Social Behavioral Sciences (that's why she gets along so well with brides!). We were able to lure her back as General Manager and all around Queen of Fun. She makes sure that we hear what you say and that we communicate with you in a timely manner and has been with East of Eden/Grapes of Wrath for over 12 years years!

Tamie does everything except wash dishes: From scheduling 40 staff members on any given day, to baking county pies for a bluegrass rehearsal dinner, to meeting with clients at 8 pm because that's the only time they can make it from The Bay Area, to creating pretty little buffet signs with cute nuances. Tamie really loves her car more than anyone we know, and tells us how cute and shiny "she" is every time we come home from a party. She aspires to play piano, makes every aspect of East of Eden & Grapes of Wrath cooler, can be a red-hot pistol at times, makes the best pecan pie, or, bacon-cheddar biscuits west of the Mississippi, and gives all brides her cell phone number incase of an emergency, who then passes it onto Christian (below), who solves it.

Bob De La Cuesta started at Galatins restaurant in Monterey where he started as a dish washer and busboy and worked his way up to pantry and line cook 1967-1972.  Bob then joined Bert Cutino and Ted Balesteri at the famed Jolly Rouge Restaurant on wharf no.2 where he worked as Sous Chef from 1972-1990. Bob spent a year as Head Chef of the Casa Munras Hotel before coming to the the Lodge in 1992 where the rest is history ...

And now he is The Dude at EOE.!!!

Bob brings a great sense of humor years of experience working with the members of the Lodge, nice to have you aboard Bob!

Tom Vitale, the Executive Chef at Grapes of Wrath has been Dana's mentor for over 20 years. She first worked with him when he owned the award winning Silver Jones Restaurant in Carmel. He's gone on to own The Abbott Street Grill and to run the banquet facilities of several of our areas finest hotels. Grapes of Wrath was lucky enough to lure him to catering in 1998. He is our rock!! Not only does he provide us with award winning cuisine, he guides us through weekends of multiple events with grace and humor.
